Pennyhill Park has that little something that makes anyone (business or leisure side) go ahhhh
Over the years, we have run so many amazing FAM trips for our members. You can read about a couple of them here and here, and for our first one, post-pandemic, we can say it was quite the scramble to get a place.
Pennyhill Park is situated in beautiful Surrey, a stone’s throw from Sunningdale Station, a short 48 min train ride from London Waterloo. The property features 124 individually appointed bedrooms and suites and 22 meeting and event spaces (capacities here).
We held our FAM last Friday afternoon. We love that our members were able to arrive by 3.00 pm, check in to their unique rooms and use the spa to get a natural feel for the property before the official schedule commenced.
The FAM commenced officially at 7.15 pm. We met our members in the property’s lobby before moving through to the terrace for a catch-up over Ridgeview Estate bubbles, some gorgeous canapes, and an update from our host and Head of Business Development Ratnesh Bakhai. Ratnesh talked through PennyHill, and the Exclusive group of venues and properties, covering what they have been up to since our last visit. Ratnesh also updated us on their Bcorp Certification, one of which they are quite rightly so proud.
After the bubbles and catch-up, it was off for a site visit of all the properties’ meeting and event spaces, and there is a space to suit every type of corporate event. The main meeting rooms are the Balmoral and Sandringham, and used in combination, can take up to 200 theatre-style using the Sandringham for up to 50 or, as your breakout for teas and coffees.
There are 18 other rooms for meetings with up to 80 guests, all with natural daylight and perfect. You can see the capacity charts here. Alongside the fab meeting rooms are the latest av equipment and delicious healthy snack boxes to give your meeting attendees tea breaks with a different. All are included in their DDR.
After our site visit, it was off to dinner in Highfield, a hyper-local restaurant which celebrates and showcases the very best of Surrey’s finest produce. The vibe here is relaxed and casual, where Head Chef Lewis Russell oversees the kitchen’s ‘Farm to Fork – Nose to Tail’ philosophy. Speaking of the Chef, the food was terrific! Along with Highfield, PennyHill has a second restaurant, Latymer, their fine dining restaurant that was awarded a Michelin star for 2021 and 4 AA Rosettes. This restaurant would be perfect for those high-end delegates!
After dinner, a few of our members had a cheeky nightcap; however, most of us went to bed. You are hardly going to sleep in when you are at Pennyhill? With that, it was up bright and early to check out the gym and hit the spa.
We loved our FAM at Pennyhill, the bedrooms, the meeting and event spaces, and the staff ensure events held here are truly memorable and, to be honest, an Event Managers dream.
