We were extremely lucky to experience Goodwood in the most magical way by staying at Hound Lodge!
Hound Lodge is an exclusive 10 bedroom lodge located discreetly within the grounds of Goodwood. It is the perfect option for c-suite board meetings, small offsites or celebration events for a group. With a private chef and butler on hand to allow you to spend time how you wish. Hound Lodge has a welcoming living room where you can have informal meetings, afternoon tea or an evening of board games. There is a private dining room which can seat up to 22 people perfect for breakfasts, lunches and dinners; and of course board meetings. There is a stunning garden which is an excellent space for outdoor dining, bbqs or drinks receptions. And the bedrooms are all beautifully decorated with small unique touches throughout.
Goodwood has ample event spaces providing different options for a variety of events. You could be here for a week and be in a different space each day!
- Goodwood House is a 300 year old house that is rich in history and you feel like you are walking into a film set! The house is available for exclusive hire which provides six different event spaces ranging in size from 15 – over 200. Imagine glamorous drink receptions, formal dining, celebrations and even a conference here!
- Goodwood Hotel is set in the heart of the estate and as well as providing 4 star accommodation for your guests it also has three event spaces that are bright, spacious and modern for meetings ranging in size with capacities from 15 – 85 people.
- The Kennels is a unique space for events, dog lovers will love the Kennels with the large amount of dog art work and nods to the man’s best friend. As well as the dog interiors, the Kennels provide stunning views over the grounds and is an excellent space for private dining and drinks on the terrace.
- There are a number of hospitality areas within Goodwood including the motor circuit, the racecourse and aerodrome. All offer unique meeting spaces within these famous hospitality areas.
If you are looking for team building activities there are a huge variety on offering from motor sports, flying planes, clay pigeon shooting and so much more.
As well as exploring the above event spaces and living our best lives in Hound Lodge, we also learnt all about the estates approach to sustainability by taking a tour of the estate within land rovers and stopped at a variety of places across the estate to learn more about some of the incredible projects they are working on. They are continually looking at how they can make a difference by innovating, improving and transforming their sustainable approaches across the estate. It was wonderful to hear how events are contributing towards these approaches.
The sustainability tour was a wonderful way to start the morning, not only to help us explore the estate in a unique way but it was the perfect way to tee up our sustainability workshop. Our sustainability workshop was a tailored workshop exclusive for our members delivered by the wonderful Worlds Better. We focused on:
- influencing behaviour and communicating sustainability;
- how to measure sustainability in events; and
- applying sustainability to events which included a case study of best practice from a member.
Throughout the FAM, both in Hound Lodge and the hotel we enjoyed delicious food which was all locally grown and seasonal. The service throughout the 24 hours was outstanding.
