Chewton Glen FAM (July 2025)

Chewton Glen screams country escape and is an iconic venue for meetings and events in the New Forest.  From the moment you drive up the drive to sitting on the patio overlooking the croquet lawn you do really feel like you’ve escaped the city.  

We recently held a fantastic FAM exploring what an event could look and feel like.  The opportunities are endless! Our FAM included:

  • A wellness coastal walk from the hotel to the beach.  This would be a perfect activity to include in your conference and you could even arrange for coffee/tea to be available on the beach for a morning refreshment after the walk or a perfect spot for a sunset champagne toast. 
  • Lunch in the Kitchen which is overseen by chef James Martin.  The food was delicious and we were able to understand the opportunities for events in the Kitchen.  From group bookings for lunch or dinner like us, to exclusive hire or cooking lessons in the private cooking school for up to 24 people.  You could even have James Martin make an appearance! 
  • A spot of croquet on the lawn! A perfect activity to incorporate into your event and the hotel offers a number of activities from golf, sheep walking , exploring the kitchen garden to relaxing in the spa.  We certainly checked out the spa and it is fantastic.  
  • Pre-dinner drinks with a view took place in a treehouse suite which was fantastic.   This is a great idea for a unique space for an intimate drinks reception or even VIP meeting on the terrace amongst the trees.  
  • An outstanding dinner in the private dining room in the main restaurant.  The food was delicious and the service was impeccable.  
  • We finished the evening with hot chocolate in the treehouse – a perfect way to finish! 

Of course, no FAM is complete without a showcase of the event spaces. There are lots of opportunities for smaller to larger events at Chewton Glen.  Options include:

  • Team building within the 180 acres of ground from wellness walks, croquet, golf, tennis, treasure hunts or more high adrenaline activities too. 
  • Cooking classes for up to 24 people for a variety of durations.  As flagged earlier, you can enhance this by making it super memorable with a class taught by James Martin! 
  • Meetings of course! There are five meeting spaces ranging in capacities from 140 – 14 people.  
  • Private dining, again five options from intimate private dining for a small group to exclusive use of the restaurants for larger groups.  And of course in the summer, options for outdoor dining is also an option. 

Chewton Glen is perfect for groups for either a flying visit for the day or for overnight stays.  With a variety of quintessentially English bedrooms, your delegates will be very relaxed and rested.
