The Kimpton Fitzroy is a gorgeous property in London, located a short walk from Covent Garden, that feels a brand new property due to a recent refurbishment and re-branding to a Kimpton Hotel – part of the IHG family. Full of history, nods to its past, a variety of event spaces and modern touches it really is a hotel you should arrange a site visit to if you’ve not seen the property.
The event spaces are all super flexible, have natural daylight, decorated to an extremely high standard and have hybrid options for those who require this option. With a glamourous ballroom for up to 350 delegates with its own private entrance, a mezzanine level and a gorgeous adjacent networking space – which feels like a magical garden – the Kimpton Fitzroy has this gem for all your event needs. As well as the fabulous ballroom, there are 8 meeting rooms ranging in sizes to accommodate from 8 – 80 delegates. After a welcome glass of champagne, we explored the above event spaces. Our members were truly impressed with the variety of options available and loved the ballroom with the adjacent networking space that is super pretty with an outdoor garden vibe due to the trees within the space. As well as the event spaces, we explored the beautiful bars within the hotel which can also be hired privately, this would work really well for a wrap up party after a conference or as an after party space after an awards evening or internal engagement event. The hotel also has a fabulous coffee bar space which has a cool and funky vibe as it transforms into a café wine bar in the evening. This is a great option if you need a spot for an informal meeting with the buzz of a café – plus also a great spot to work from!
The hotel has over 300 bedrooms ranging in sizes but all have the Kimpton touches from the yoga mats, the snack boxes, the fabulous amenities within the room and decorated to a very high standard.
After exploring the hotel, we had worked up an appetite and headed off to the gorgeous Galvin Bar & Grill private dining room. The service was impeccable and we were lucky enough to enjoy the launch menu for the summer all cooked by various chefs within the Galvin group. The Galvin Bar & Grill is a fabulous light and airy dining space, perfect for smaller group bookings but this can also be privately hired. Our five course dinner was amazing, fabulous flavours, local and in-season produce showcasing their sustainability approach and cooked to perfection.
As always, we exchanged lots of knowledge about the current state of the industry, the trends we are seeing, events we are managing but super importantly we had lots of fun!
