Vintry & mercer (june 2022)

A rooftop is a must in the summer in London, luckily for us and our members, our June event had a fabulous rooftop space!  We explored Vintry & Mercer which is a boutique hotel located in the heart of the city.  The hotel has a contemporary but welcoming vibe with nods to the trading guilds’ history in the area.  The property has 92 bedrooms; a café and wine bar; a hidden bar called “Do Not Disturb”; three meeting rooms and of course the fabulous rooftop restaurant.

The evening began in the Vintry Kitchen which is a café and wine bar space for the public but importantly for us #eventprofs it is a beautiful space for a drinks reception for up to 100 people.  The space is a welcoming space with an outdoor vibe due to the stunning plants that are dotted around the space.  After a glass or two of bubbles, we explored the hotel including its unique bedrooms, the rooftop restaurant, and the meeting spaces.

The rooftop restaurant – The Mercer Roof Terrace – has fabulous views of the city and is a hidden gem!  The restaurant area itself is fully covered with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the terrace; the terrace itself can be partially covered and has heaters for those chilly summer evenings.  The area can be hired exclusively on occasions and the restaurant is a great option for smaller dining experiences in a shared space.  We recommend speaking to the team regarding any opportunities to host private events on the terrace, they are super flexible and accommodating so will be able to talk through the options.

The meeting rooms are located on the lower ground floor.  The Drawing Room has an exclusive and intimate vibe with a capacity for 10 people seated and 25 standing, a lovely space for a high-level board room meeting.  The Library is adjacent to the Drawing Room and can accommodate up to 32 seating and 35 standing, the space can also be opened up to extend into the Drawing Room.  The final meeting space is the Music Room which is a stylish meeting room for up 10 people.  All the spaces have excellent facilities and are decorated to a very high standard.

We ended our evening in the Do Not Disturb bar which has a speakeasy vibe – dark, cozy and excellent service, all that you want from a cocktail bar!  We enjoyed delicious cocktails from their mixologists and the food was outstanding – substantial canapés, bowl food, and desserts.

We highly recommend you check out the hotel, please get in touch and we can connect you with our contacts at JG Collection who hosted us along with representatives of the hotel.
