Coworth Park is one of those properties that the mere mention denotes a feeling of idyllic country bliss. It evokes a sense of luxury, calm, and ultimately a guaranteed gold star when you hold an event here as an event manager.
The property is just a short train ride from London, with the closest stations Virginia Water, Ascot or Sunningdale. After a short taxi ride from the station, you are right in the middle of the aforementioned bliss and what a wonderful location for our March Fam.
Part of the Dorchester Collection, Coworth dates back to 1066 where the hotel sits on land that Westminster Abbey owned before being repossessed by Willian the Conqueror for The Crown. It is steeped in so much history!!
Our Fam started on a very sunny Sunday, where we were fortunate enough to host a group of eight of our members for the afternoon. On arrival, we were whisked to the gorgeous Oval room for a masterclass in building a terrarium. Yep, we didn’t know what that was either, but hosted by the fabulous FireBird Events; we learnt what a terrarium was and how to build one that (we hope) will stay with us in our homes for many years to come. Over champagne and afternoon tea, it was the perfect introduction to the hotel and our hosts, Nicola Smith & Irantzu Gaffuri of Coworth Park.
After the team building session, it was off to our rooms to check into our spectacular rooms. The hotel boasts 70 bedrooms and suites in total and each one more stunning than the next. A welcome gift on arrival, and it was straight onto the Instagram stories to share the love. Our rooms were amazing and however you placed your delegates across the many different categories would ensure high praise, trust us. Before I go any further what I should also mention is that arrival experience as its something I have really come to love at properties and Coworth just shines at this. Your bag is whisked away as soon as you walk in the front door by the front of house team, the check-in/reception desk is really informal and relaxed and it just immediately puts delegates on ease as soon as they walk in the door.
After our team building, we then had few hours free in the afternoon so, we all either headed to the spa or, enjoyed the time in our rooms before all meeting for a site visit of all of the stunning meeting and event spaces (you can find them all here) and then dinner, drinks, a lot of laughs and most importantly, getting to know our hosts, the property and each other.
