The Montague on the Gardens (January 2020)

New Year, new us and new goals – well that is what we all say isn’t it!!!  But we actually meant it and thought it was the best way to kick off our 2020 events programme with a 2020 vision goal setting workshop!  We were hosted by The Montague on the Gardens which is a 4 star hotel set within a Georgian Townhouse moments away from the British Museum.  The hotel is full of character and oozes English charm – one of our members is American and she loved everything about it as it felt so English!!

We kicked off with cocktails and mocktails (it is dry January after all) and some healthy canapés in the hotel bar which overlooks the courtyard which houses the Alpine themed Ski Lodge in the winter and a Hawaiian Beach Bar in the summer – the pop-ups sound great fun and we can’t wait for the tickets for the summer pop-up to go on sale so we can get an evening at the Hawaiian Beach Bar in the diary!  After catching up on our Christmas and New Year adventures, we headed off to explore the event spaces within the hotel along with The Edit Events team who are a creative agency that work closely with the hotel on delivering events within the meeting spaces and also within the two stunning gardens (which feel like they are secret gardens within the city!) that the hotel has access to – one which can hold up to 800 people!  The Edit Events’ team provided us with an overview of what they do along with some inspiration from events previously held at the hotel one which included transforming the main events space into a tranquil spa – the photos looked incredible and certainly inspired us to check into a spa soon!  As well as the pop-up events and the two beautiful gardens, the hotel also has three event spaces within the hotel itself with the largest being able to accommodate 150 people, more details can be found here.

With all the inspiration from the team, we were ready to put pen to paper and get creative for our 2020 vision goal-setting workshop.  The workshop was held within the hotel’s main event space and was provided by Jo Valentina Sinclair who coaches and mentors people within the corporate world.  Jo is collaborating with the hotel on 2020 vision workshops which can be held as team building activities, as a breakout as part of a wider conference or on an individual basis.  After a brief welcome to the workshop, we all started creating our own vision boards for 2020, everyone really got stuck into the task at hand and from the mess on the table afterwards we certainly all added a lot of goals to our vision boards!!!  We can’t wait to chat in December 2020 to see what we’ve all achieved from the vision boards!
