Hotel Cafe Royal (May 2019)

Hotel Cafe Royal needs no introduction as it is such an iconic hotel in central London!  The hotel has recently gone through an amazing refurbishment and we were lucky enough to spend an evening at the hotel showcasing the great event spaces, spa, bedrooms and enjoy a fabulous dinner in the main restaurant with our members.

You really couldn’t ask for a better location for London but once inside you feel a sense of calm and elegance from the outside hustle and bustle of Regent Street – which is music to event planners ears knowing that your delegates won’t be distracted by the outside world!  The hotel has 8 fantastic event spaces  perfect for gala receptions, dinners, boardroom meetings and conferences.  One of our favourite spaces within the hotel is the beautiful Pompadour Ballroom which is breathtaking with a capacity for up to 250 people and even has a great outdoor terrace to enjoy some of the fabulous weather we’ve been experiencing recently.   We all know that privacy is extremely important at boardroom meetings, a great feature of the boardroom spaces at the hotel is that they all have refreshment bars built-in which means that you don’t need to have a catering service within the room if privacy is key – don’t panic though the hotel won’t completely leave you alone, if you need them there is a great little button within the room that indicates to the catering team that you would like their service.

After checking out the event spaces, we also checked out a couple of the bedrooms – they were gorgeous with lots of bathroom inspiration for us all!  The hotel offers a variety of level of rooms from standard, deluxe, suites to wings – more information on the rooms can be found here.  We also explored the spa (voted number 1 in London), Ziggy’s bar which is a great hotel bar where you can arrange for a small group booking for drinks, the Oscar Wilde Lounge where the Queen of Afternoon Tea is served (this space can also be used for events in the evening) and the most recent addition to the hotel, Cakes and Bubbles, which we all can’t wait to return to enjoy some cakes and bubbles after a shopping trip down Regent Street!

By this point we had worked up an appetite, especially after checking out the desserts in Cakes and Bubbles, so we headed off to the main restaurant – Laurent – which is a grill and sushi bar.   There is a semi-private area available within the main restaurant as well as lots of cosy booths overlooking the reception area (which used to be the main restaurant before the refurbishment).  The food – OMG – was amazing!!!!  We were treated to a delicious sharing menu which had all our favourite things on – it felt like the menu had been designed for us!   The concept was sharing starters and desserts with your own choice of the main course, it was ideal for group bookings and your delegates will be in for a treat if they are lucky enough to experience this menu at an event.

If you are looking for an iconic hotel, with a luxury feel in a great location in London your events – look no further!  The wonderful Lilla Maniscalco will be able to help with all your requirements.
