As event professionals we like to think that we are aware of all the hidden gems for events although our May FAM trip proved this theory wrong! We held our FAM trip at Alexander House and Langshott Manor two hotels that we had not heard of before let alone considered them for an event – this has now changed!
Alexander House is a stunning 5 star hotel in West Sussex – super close to Gatwick airport and a quick train ride from London so a perfect location – set within 120 acres. The hotel has 7 meeting spaces for up to 56 delegates cabaret style or 120 theatre style. The event spaces all have natural day light and some even open up onto the beautiful grounds and terraces. The meeting spaces work perfect for small board meetings or retreats that require a larger space plus breakout rooms. Your delegates would all be staying in luxury as the rooms are amazing and majority are suites! All of our suites were beautifully decorated\ with ample space to either relax on the private balcony or if needed there was plenty of space within the room to work. The cherry on the cake is the spa which is perfect, we loved relaxing in the spa on the Saturday especially the private hot tubs that are set within the spa garden! As well as relaxing in the spa on Saturday morning, we were very lucky to be treated to some treatments on the Friday as part of the showcase of the hotel. We started off with a neck, shoulder and back massage which after a week at work we all needed, the therapists were all amazing and worked their magic on us! The hotel offers a skin workshop which is a 2 hour workshop where you learn all about your skin and have a personalised facial, we found the workshop really interesting and beneficial, a great addition to add onto your events!
After a great showcase of the event spaces and being made to feel like a million dollars from our time in the spa and relaxing in our rooms, we headed off to Langshott Manor which is a short taxi ride from Alexander House. Langshott Manor is a beautiful manor house set in stunning gardens it even has its own moat! Langshott Manor has 22 bedrooms and suites and would work perfect for exclusive hire for a small retreat or a beautiful wedding especially as the grounds are so pretty!! As the hotel is only 10 minutes away from Gatwick airport, not that you would know as it is so peaceful, it is a great location if you have delegates who are flying into the UK for the meeting and don’t wish to travel into London. Plus the hotel is so quintessentially English it would go down a storm with your international delegates! We all know that food and service is a big thing for an event and can make or break it, there are no worries at Langshott Manor the food and service will certainly make it!! We started off with delicious canapes and bubbles in one of the lounges around the roaring fire which made you feel right at home followed by a delicious dinner in their private dining room. We were lucky enough to experience the new menu by their new chef which had been launched on the night we were eating there – it was amazing!!
We highly recommend carrying out site visits at these properties, Jessica McKechie and Sarah Houghton would be delighted to arrange the site visits – let them know that we sent you.
