The Hari (September 2016)

For our September EventProfsLive event we were very lucky to be hosted by the lovely Marie at the Hari Hotel, formerly known as the Belgraves Hotel by Thompson, it was perfect timing as our event took place during the first week of the official opening.

If you have not been to the hotel, you must! It is one of our favourite spots at the moment, with the discreet feel of a private club, the Hari Hotel is the chic boutique hotel in the heart of Belgraves. The space is very versatile with a restaurant, snug, bar, private dining room and a terrace which is covered(!). The hotel is in a great location very close to Victoria, Sloane Square and Knightsbridge tube stations.

We started off the evening with bubbles – a highly recommended way to start a Monday – in the snug, which is gorgeous. The snug is discreetly located within the main bar and can be used as a semi-private area for up to 30 people. The area has comfortable furniture, rugs and all the art work is from local galleries which change every 6 months – currently it is a James Bond theme. The snug really does feel like you are in a chic New York loft!

After initial catch ups and introductions to two new members, we were introduced to the delicious canapés that the Hari Hotel can provide. Everyone was commenting how delicious they were particularly the mini burgers! After being well fed, Marie kindly showed us around the spaces within the hotel.

The main hotel bar can hired exclusively for up to 180 people and the great thing about the Hari Hotel is that they are so flexible in terms of your requirements for the event even down to removing some of the lovely sofas if you wished to have more of standing reception.

The hotel has a great meeting space, the Muse, which has brilliant natural day light and all the AV equipment you require for up to 24 guests as one space or, the room can be divided into two rooms (seating 10 and 6 respectively). A cute new edition that they have added since the re-branding is that sweets, games and books are placed as table centres in the Muse – the owner loves to read so books are a real feature here!

The hotel also has its own restaurant which can accommodate up to 80 people for a standing reception or 60 people for a seated dinner – lots of exciting plans are coming soon to the restaurant so keep an eye out!

Personally our favourite event space within the hotel, that also got lots of wows and got imaginations going wild as to the events that could be held, is the Garden Terrace which could be used for so many events from a creativity meeting, whisky and cigar tastings, dinners, drinks receptions or even screenings! The terrace has a retractable roof and heaters so can be used all year round regardless of the weather! We actually feel that an event in the winter here would be amazing as you would feel that you would be outside but feeling lovely and warm at the same time! The terrace can hold up to 30 people for a drinks reception or a 12 people for an intimate dinner.

The bedrooms here are also gorgeous, all decorated to a very high standard, fabulous mini bars fully stocked with all you could want including champagne and delicious snacks! Every night guests are also delivered a variety of treats from fudge, chocolates and cookies and milk!

We ended the night on a sugar rush with yummy desserts – salted chocolate cream and for those feeling a bit more healthy raspberry tarts!

This hotel is a hidden gem, we highly recommend reaching out to Marie Froger to explore this hotel yourself.
