Kings Place Events (July 2016)

Last Thursday marked our first birthday for Eventprofslive AND the hottest day of the year in London so what better way to enjoy it than coffee, a very delicious breakfast outside at Kings Place Events and, a tour of some fab event spaces.

Our July event (are we in July already??) was held last Thursday morning at Kings Place Events – Winner of Best Conference Venue in The London Venue Awards 2015 and we were blown away by the spaces.  The venue is only minutes from Kings Cross St Pancras station and with spaces to hold up to 400, it really is worth knowing about.

Our event commenced with breakfast in their fabulous terrace, overlooking the Regent’s Canal where we met the sales team and Claus (the in-house butcher).  Breakfast was amazing – I am on a diet (as usual) and had to resist however their smoked salmon and cheese croque-monsieur and sausage baps (with the sausages made in-house by Claus) were (I’m told) amazing!

After our usual non-stop chatter, we commenced our site visit of all the event spaces.  You can see the capacity charts here. Kings Place is “a hub for conferences and events, music, art, dialogue and food” and they really do have an event space to suit every requirement.  The venue is modern with so many versatile spaces split over 3 floors.  Hall’s one and two can seat 400 and 200 delegates respectively which makes it idea both in size and location for a mid-sized conference. The venue also has two private dining rooms which can host up to 40 with dining packages to suit alongside so many other spaces you can see here.

After the site visit half of the group split up to see the hanging room where their meat hangs up for 34 days before being handed to butcher Klaus to work his magic.  This isn’t for everyone and a few of our guest chose instead to enjoy the sunshine (and more food).  As well as the fabulous event spaces, Kings Place Events offers a series of experiences you can add to your event. You can incorporate activities such as the “meat the butcher” just described, have a cheese masterclass, a whisky or gin tasting or, a sculpture trail which over bubbles, guests are taken on an interactive guide of some of the works on display at the venue (there is some seriously amazing art).

There really is something to suit every event here and we really love all the different spaces. Kate and I wanted to also give a big thank-you to the team who arranged a lovely cake for our first birthday! it was amazing…
