Last week, we had the pleasure of attending a fantastic networking event at the iconic The Langham London on behalf of Eventprofslive. Hosted in partnership with Associated Luxury Hotels International (ALHI), it was an evening dedicated to connecting corporate event professionals with some of the world’s most exciting hotels and destinations.
From the moment we arrived, The Langham’s timeless elegance set the perfect stage for conversations, new connections, and inspiration for future events. Over the years the network has held many events at The Langham and their event spaces and gorgeous private dining rooms never disappoint. The team are always consistently exceptional in their delivery and clients always love it!
On arrival, we were met by the lovey Siena of @sketchedbysienda who took our photo, ready to sketch all attendees and provide a beautiful take home picture at the end of the evening. We loved this idea, it provided such an amazing take away and we are definitely booking her for our own client events.
Conversations and Connections
As part of the event, author Anne-Laure Le Cunff, Ph.D author and speaker give us a short keynote on some of the key takeaways from her research and, from her book – Tiny Experiments which we loved (we were also lucky enough to take home a signed copy of the book). Ann-Laure was accompanied by Dan Risner of Leading Authority Speaker Bureau (link here). Dan is passionate about helping corporate event planners find the right speaker for their events and we love working with him on speaker sourcing.
The room was buzzing with energy as representatives from ALHI’s portfolio of stunning hotels shared updates, destination news, and insider tips. Here are some of my personal highlights from the evening:
- It was wonderful to reconnect with Marianne le Fevre Hauerslev from Tivoli Hotel & Congress Center, Copenhagen. Having worked together before, it was great to hear what’s new in Copenhagen as a thriving destination for corporate events.
- We had a fascinating chat with Dan Risner , discussing potential speaker options for an upcoming event—a perfect example of how these evenings often turn into collaborative problem-solving for live projects.
- Thomas Oliver from Nobu Hotel London Portman Square tempted us to try their reformer Pilates classes—definitely on our list for next time as it’s such an amazing idea for client events. Wellness is everything right now and imagine running an event kicking off with Pilates before an amazing Nobu feast.
- Andrea Corredera from Nobu Hotel Barcelona shared updates about their fabulous rooftop terrace overlooking the city, perfect for summer receptions or exclusive dinners.
- We met Ellio Thiery from L’Hôtel du Collectionneur, Paris for the first time—a property now firmly on our radar for future programs in Paris.
- It’s always a pleasure catching up with Lina Tovar Lopez from Live Aqua and Fiesta Americana Hotels. Her insights on Mexico as a destination are endlessly inspiring.
We were also delighted to meet and hear from other hotel partners in attendance, including:
- Belen Carellan from Grand Hyatt La Manga Club Golf & Spa, Spain
- Andrea Szigeti from Kempinski Hotel Corvinus Budapest, Hungary
- Alexandra Delahunt from Lotte New York Palace, USA
- Elisabeth Booth from Royal Garden Hotel, London
- Jamie Rice from The Langham London, UK
Why Events Like This Matter
Events like these remind us why networking is such an essential part of being an event professional and why Eventprofslive is so important for any corporate event planner. It’s not just about business cards—it’s about building genuine relationships, discovering new destinations, and finding creative inspiration for our clients and programs.
A huge thank you to Janet Broomfield and Alan Love for putting together such a wonderful evening. The thoughtful touches, the warmth of the conversations, and the sheer quality of the connections made it a night to remember.
Inspiration for Future Events
We left The Langham feeling energised, full of new ideas, and more convinced than ever that the magic of our industry lies in the connections we build and the stories we share.
If you’re planning your next event and looking for unique venues or destinations, I can wholeheartedly recommend exploring the incredible properties represented by ALHI and the fabulous hoteliers I met last night. They are passionate about what they do—and it shows.
