London12 with Make Events (October 2024)

London12 = 20 #eventprofs, 9 venues and 12 hours in London!  Every year, we partner with Make Events to produce an exclusive FAM for our members.  

The FAM is curated to provide our members with the opportunity to explore the latest venues in London, connect with key suppliers, develop relationships with Make Events, network with their peers and of course have fun along the way!

From the initial communication, our members experienced the magic touches that Make Events are famous for. From stunning design assets at the invite stage that were used throughout the event, a brochure setting out full details for the FAM, a get to know you questionnaire with their responses incorporated  via personalised touches throughout the day.

Upon arrival, everyone received their personalised events survival kit which we can repurpose and use again for our own events.  Our members loved opening these and seeing their must have on site item in the survival kit – we had everything from clipboards, lip balm to ice cubes! 

Across the 12 hours, we visited 9 venues including:

  • Horizon 22: London’s highest event space providing 300 degrees of fantastic views.  We enjoyed breakfast in the clouds to kick off the FAM.  The space is  available for breakfast or evening hire making it the perfect venue for a breakfast update, awards ceremony, drinks receptions and parties for up to 500 standing or 280 seated.  
  • Gordon Ramsay 22 Bishopsgate; in February 2025, Gordon Ramsay will be opening two new restaurants in 22 Bishopsgate.- High and Lucky Cat – they will be London’s highest restaurants! We had a hard hat tour to learn more about the private dining and exclusive hire of these spaces including the roof terrace that will be available.
  • Virgin Hotel Shoreditch: previously the Mondrian Hotel, there are a variety of event spaces for conferences, drinks receptions, screenings etc. Within the hotel, there is Blue Marlin Ibiza London, providing opportunities for drinks or dinner in their rooftop restaurant or a glam boujee party in their basement nightclub.
  • Uncommon Holborn: a co-working concept that can be hired in the evening for dinners, drinks receptions, parties etc either in their main event space or the stunning rooftop terrace. There are a variety of meeting rooms that can also be hired during the day. We enjoyed a delicious lunch and catch up in one of the bright and airy meeting rooms.
  • Townhall by Bottaccio: new venue alert!! We had an exclusive hard har site visit of this space which is going to be fantastic for conferences, awards, dinners and parties. For up to 600 people. Located by King’s Cross, it is going to be a super popular space and an AV dream based on what will be included.
  • Circe’s Rooftop: located by Waterloo this all year rooftop bar provides summer vibes regardless of the weather. A perfect spot for a fun drinks reception. Small group bookings or exclusive hire for up to 550 people. There are even super cute pods for hire. We sampled their festive menu along with our favourite drink which was a big hit!
  • Dear Darling: in Mayfair it is a great spot for a drinks reception that feels like you are in a luxury living room. Capacity for up to 150 people. You can also hire the basement but we recommend seeing the basement space before booking for a corporate event. We all loved the living room and the ladies toilets are super cute – bathroom goals!
  • Neon 194: located in the heart of London, a great option for a drinks reception for up to 150 in the bar or up to 400 in the ballroom which is a true hidden gem in London. As well as awards, drinks receptions, game nights etc it is a great option for a relaxed conference in this blank canvas space. We sampled some of their menu and it is delicious!
  • Maroto: we ended the day at this Brazilian inspired restaurant which can be hired exclusively for a dinner and there is an also a private dining room for up to 8 people. Downstairs you can continue the Brazilian spirits late into the evening in their lounge bar that is available for hire.
