Last week, The Savoy London hosted our second event for our members in January.
We exchanged our usual running orders for chandeliers, traded rooming lists for menus, and were so excited to delve into the world of this iconic hotel. The evening unfolded like a perfectly choreographed symphony – a show round brimming with fascinating history, private drinks in a plush suite, and a finale of exceptional culinary artistry culminating in a melt-in-your-mouth Beef Wellington (that are still talking about).
The Savoy’s allure transcends bricks and mortar. It’s woven into the very fabric of London’s cultural tapestry. In 1889, it burst onto the scene, dazzling with electric lights and pioneering the concept of luxury hotels. Oscar Wilde quipped witty lines in its gilded rooms, while Claude Monet captured its luminous River Thames facade on canvas. This isn’t just a venue; it’s a living, breathing repository of stories, whispering secrets from a bygone era.
The Savoy caters to every vision, from intimate gatherings to grand soirees. Picture intimate meetings bathed in natural light in the Lancaster Room (30 guests), perfect for brainstorming sessions with a view. For larger conferences, the opulent River Room (220 guests) unfolds with breathtaking river vistas, ideal for inspiring keynote speeches. Craving a touch of the avant-garde? The Thames Foyer (150 guests) boasts a contemporary ambience and a versatile layout, ready to morph into your artistic dream.
But The Savoy’s magic extends beyond meeting spaces. Imagine whisking guests away to the decadent Beaufort Bar, where the clinking of ice cubes mingles with the murmur of whispered secrets. Or picture a cocktail reception under the twinkling stars on the Thames Foyer Terrace, with the city lights dancing in the river’s reflection.
For overnight stays, choose from 264 luxurious bedrooms, each a haven of refined comfort. Indulge in the sumptuous River View Rooms adorned with panoramic vistas, or retreat to the tranquil Savoy Suites, offering a home away from home experience. The Royal Suite, a masterpiece of Art Deco design, awaits those seeking to walk in the footsteps of royalty.
