Cliveden House FAM (February 2020)

You say Cliveden House and people automatically go “Oooo very nice” and then go on to tell you some historical connection with either a lavish royalty event/figure or a glamorous celebrity connection! Well for 24 hours we were able to experience what they were talking about!

As soon as you drive up the grand drive to Cliveden you know you are about to experience something special – what a feeling to provide your delegates with upon arrival to the event!

With 8 event spaces, a spa, relaxing and welcoming lounges, beautiful grounds and stunning bedrooms if you hold an event here your delegates will truly have an exceptional time!

We couldn’t have started the FAM trip in a better way – afternoon tea in the stunning French Room. Honestly, this room is just gorgeous and perfect for either private dining experiences, board room meetings or a conference for up to 60 people.  Not only is the room gorgeous but it also provides views of the grounds along with access to a terrace for those sunny days!

After enjoying a delicious afternoon tea, champagne and lots of chats we all checked into our bedrooms before enjoying some relaxation time (and a few laps in the pool to work off the cakes and sandwiches!) in the spa.  A great addition as an incentive for your delegates to enjoy whilst holding an event here.

Feeling a million dollars after some relaxation time, we all enjoyed pre-dinner drinks in the lounge. The lounge can either have all the furniture removed (if taking exclusive hire) for a large conference or be used as a great breakout space for calls, smaller meetings if you don’t need privacy etc.

We had worked up an appetite after seeing the event spaces (yes we know even after the afternoon tea!), so we headed to the wine cellar for a private dining experience.  Upon arrival, we realised we were being welcomed by a very special guest – Winston Churchill! Cliveden can help organise these amazing guests (well look a likes) that have connections with the hotel to help bring the history alive.  After telling us all about his important work recently, Winston had to head back to Downing Street!  Onto the food…..well it was just amazing!!! We all literally wanted to try everything on the menu and there wasn’t a clean plate left after each course! Up to 12 people can enjoy a unique dining experience in the wine cellar or a maximum of 18 people for a standing wine tasting event.

If only every Sunday could be spent like this…although we didn’t want to leave on Monday morning at least the commute wasn’t long back to the office from Cliveden – another great selling point that you can escape the city and hold an event here very quickly with the fast transport links!
