Richmond Hill Hotel FAM (July 2019)

Richmond is one of those places that once you go to, you vow to keep coming back. Only 10 minutes on the train from London’s Waterloo, Richmond is not only home to one of the most beautiful parks in Surrey but home to our property for our July FAM; Richmond Hill Hotel.

Perched (as the name of the hotel suggests) upon Richmond Hill, The Richmond Hill Hotel is a 144-bedroom property whose bedrooms are equally as beautiful as the views.

Our FAM trip commenced with checking into our lovely rooms (with a glass of champagne on arrival) and then a full site visit of all the meeting and event spaces.  The property has  meeting and events spaces for 5 to 250 delegates with 15 meeting rooms, all filled with natural daylight.  You can even take the property exclusively.  You can read all about the meeting and event spaces here.

After our site visit, we met in 144 On The Hill, the properties newest eating addition and it was amazing. Afternoon tea is one of lifes great pleasures and there was so much of everything.  From the sandwiches to the scones and the desserts, there was so much choice, each one more delicious than the next. I would highly recommend this not only for your delegates if it suits the agenda but also for leisure or a lovely day out with the girls.

Up next was a wellness walk. Now, a wellness walk is just what I needed. I had just had an event for 400 people the night before with a 2.00 am finish so I was exhausted, and this is just what the doctor ordered. Our 4km walk via Pembroke Lodge, Petersham Nurseries and finally the biggest hill EVER in Richmond park was so lovely, we even had a spot of rain but soldiered on – the scenery was stunning and is what makes the Richmond Hill so wonderful. You can incorporate a wellness walk into your event!

Up next, it was back to our rooms to change before a cocktail and dinner back in 144 On The Hill. The food was gorgeous, I had lamb pappardelle and despite my best efforts to recreate for my husband the next night, it wasn’t a patch on Chefs! It was fab.

Up “semi”- early the next morning, the best part our fam was yet to come. We were fortunate enough to utilise one of the gorgeous sun-filled meeting rooms for our very own private 60 minute Pilates class. Our instructor, Carolan Brown (ex PT to Princess Diann) was so patient, clam and taught us a lot about our bodies in that short 60-minute session (I have learnt that I can only wiggle the toes on one foot)!!! I think I will become a Pilates devotee for life.

Our Fam was such a lovely, relaxing insight into Richmond Hill. The rooms were stunning, the company superb and we all walked away saying how much we enjoyed it.
