Boasting one of the most glamorous guest books in the world, The Lygon Arms in the stunning Cotswolds (Broadway) was home to our August FAM and we hope we left our own touch of #evenptrofs glamour when we left. Sadly we didn’t bump into any celebrities as we have heard on the grapevine that it was THE CELEBRITY hot spot, back in the day…
Hosted by the fabulous Lisa (Iconic Luxury Properties) our FAM commenced with check-in to our beautifully appointed bedrooms before meeting on the croquet pitch (I think its called a pitch?!) for our very own private lesson with Martin of Croquet for Events whose ethos is
“The game plan is to get everyone playing as soon as possible so no theory, a little practice if time allows, then learn as you play; and the only tips and rules we mention are those that help you enjoy the game.”
We loved it and got very very competitive. We also had a Pimms or two whilst we played which seemed to affect the accuracy of our shots towards the end of the match! Haha
After our croquet, it was back to our rooms for a quick change before dinner before meeting in the cozy reception for a tour of the hotels’ bedrooms and meeting and events spaces. The bedrooms at The Lygon Arms are gorgeous, and when I say cozy, I don’t mean small. As soon as you walk in you feel like you are in your home away from home.
The Lygon Arms boasts a variety of meeting and events spaces for 2 to 50 people with a very competitive DDR from £55.00 per person. The look and feel of all of the different spaces range from modern to rooms steeped in tradition like The Oliver Cromwell room, named so because he stayed there the night before the Battle of Worcester in 1651. We loved each and everyone one of the spaces, there really is something to suit every group and the spa is the most luxurious spa in Broadway. The spa has a state-of-the-art gym, sauna and steam room, pool and a full range of beauty treatments. I did try and book in but as usual, I always leave it to the last minute and it was (quite rightly) booked out!
After our tour, it was on to dinner in our own private area at the cocktail bar where we sampled the Lygon Bar & Grill Menu. Spoilt for choice on the menu and the extensive wine list each of us sampled something different and every dish was outstanding. Paired with the perfect wines (and cocktails) it really was a wonderful evening.
After dinner, it was off to the bar for a few more drinks and a lot of laughter and bed, ready for an early start for some of us to explore Broadway before heading off home.
We loved the Lygon Arms and your delegates will too. The spaces most certainly lend themselves well to a group of up to 50, potentially taking exclusive use with so many options for not only meeting and event spaces but for outdoor team building activities and leisure. The rooms are beautiful and cozy and the hotel overall just makes you feel like you are in your own special corner of the world.
