Monday evening’s do not normally involve Michelin starred Indian food but for us and 10 of our members it did!
Our first of two EventProfsLive events in April took place at Gymkhana on Monday evening, a Michelin starred restaurant serving the most amazing Indian food – as soon as you enter through the grand door your senses tell you that your in for a treat!
We started off the evening with a champagne cocktail – the perfect way to start the week and over our drinks, caught up all things events. Gymkhana is split over two floors and we were on the lower ground floor which has it’s own bar and where the two private dining vaults are situated. The lower ground floor is available for exclusive hire for up to 50 people.
You can only take the smell of all the delicious food for so long so after our cocktail, we were ready to move through to our very private dining room for the evening. Gymkhana has two private dining vaults – one holds up to 9 people and one holds up to 14 people.
Quite rightly, food is very important to our group and we knew we were going be well fed but boy did they exceed our expectations! We enjoyed tasting our way through pretty much the entire menu (our favourite being the biryani, ceremonially presented and opened in front of us (it comes in a pastry bowl). All dishes are served as sharing dishes which we love as it provides easy opportunities for interaction between guests especially if everyone does not know each other.
Words used throughout the evening to describe the food included “delicious”, “wow”, “amazing” “unbelievable”, “incrdible” – you will need to check it out to believe us! We are still dreaming about the chicken curry and that biryani.
The restaurant is very flexible for events. As well as hiring the lower ground floor and the private dining rooms, the entire restaurant can also be hired exclusively for 90 people.
We can’t wait to use Gymkhana for private dining experiences or drinks receptions. The food, drinks and service was outstanding – the restaurant certainly deserves their Michelin star!
Dinner is never going to be the same again on a Monday now – can we come back next week?
