Cowdray House FAM (February 2025)

Cowdray House is situated in West Sussex which is easily accessible via a direct train from London and major airports.  It is a stunning private house set in 110 acres of grounds providing the perfect setting to create and hold memorable events.

After being picked up by the team in Land Rovers front end station, as soon as you arrive onto the property, you are amazed at the beauty of the house and grounds.  We were met with warm drinks and homemade biscuits along with a tour of the stunning private house.   Whilst grand it feels very homely and welcoming, providing the perfect backdrop for corporate events to spark creativity, innovation and team building opportunities.

The house has 22 bedrooms which are all uniquely decorated and are stunning.  Some have  bathrooms that are a suite in themselves! If you require more than 22 bedrooms within the estate there are cottages and treehouses for additional accommodation requirements; and if more is needed the estate regularly works with a hotel nearby for the overflow.

Within the house itself there are multiple of rooms to select from to hold smaller breakout meetings, areas to work from, chill out spaces and the large hall can be used for larger meetings.  The house is super versatile and the team are truly flexible so if you wanted to remove the furniture to create a casino room, for example, this is possible.

As well as the options for meetings, there is lots to do for fun! From a pool table, darts, bowling alley, two swimming pools and a tennis court.  The grounds also provide lots of opportunities for activities from polo, duck herding, golf days, foraging, BBQs and stunning dinners outside.

Talking of food, this is a big passion at the house.  With a focus on sustainable produce with the chefs utilizing as much produce as possible from the land.  We enjoyed a delicious dinner in the grand hall and breakfast the following day.   They can work with you to create bespoke menus for the catering element of the event.

We had an incredible 24 hours at Cowdray House and certainly felt at home.  We enjoyed exploring the house, relaxing in our stunning bedrooms, tested the WiF (which is great) by remote working for the afternoon at the house and put the full after dinner activities to the test.  We had lots of fun – and competition  – playing pool, darts and bowling.

After a restful night’s sleep and a yummy breakfast, we got some fresh air and explored the grounds whilst taking part in a foraging walk.  It was really interesting to learn more about what is on the doorstep of the house, how it can be utilized and it is a great team building option to incorporate into the agenda.

It was then a reality check as we checked out and headed back to our own homes but we had to stop off on the way home to take back some goodies from the estate’s farm shop.

We highly recommend Cowdray House is considered as an option to hold a truly memorable event.  Please reach out and we can introduce you to Jo Bearnes who represents the house.
