One Aldwych (June 2019)

We’ve been lucky enough to work with One Aldwych before to host our group in October 2018 as well as being involved in their focus group ahead of the refurb to contribute and share ideas of what we #eventprofs are looking for when working with hotels to hold our events.  After an extensive refurbishment, the hotel has now re-opened and we were one of the first in the door with our members!

Well what can we say about the refurbishment?  It looks amazing and has made such a difference to enhance the guests experience whether they are staying at the hotel, attending an event within one of the event spaces or enjoying dinner.

We kicked off the evening in the Lobby Bar which is where you can see the first of the transformations since the refurb – from the position of the welcome desk, a new route to the check-in desk to enhance the welcome, opening up of the guest lounge and brightening up the Lobby Bar which feels so homely and cosy.  After some bubbles and chats (and the famous olives!), we went off to explore the event spaces.   The meeting spaces are now looking very fresh and modern after the refurb with plenty of natural day light, state of the art technology, updated food and beverage offerings.  The Adelphi and Novello Room has been transformed – the rooms were set up for dinner and really showcased the true flexibility of these spaces from a boardroom meeting to a sophisticated private dining experience.   A great feature of the event spaces is the screening room which could be used for so many events.  Read here for the full details of the meeting spaces.

Back in October 2018, we enjoyed a delicious dinner in Indigo where the menu is entirely diary and gluten free.   The restaurant didn’t miss out on the refurb and the transformation is perfect, a much more modern, clean and fresh feel.  Indigo provides an opportunity to have a semi private table in a section of the restaurant so that you and your guests can still enjoy the atmosphere of the restaurant which overlooks the Lobby Bar.

During the focus group that we attended, we were lucky enough to have a sneak peak of a mocked up bedroom ahead of the refurb and our lips have been sealed since.   We are happy to say that they are as gorgeous as the mocked up bedroom – the interiors are gorgeous providing a relaxing and homely feel just what you need when staying in a hotel. They’ve thought of everything you will need from ample plugs, USB sockets, a great mirror that is hidden away on the dressing table to provide more space, Dyson hairdryers – we could go on and on!  Your delegates will feel right at home when they stay at One Aldwych for an event.

After all the excitement we had worked up an appetite so we headed for dinner in Eneko Basque & Kitchen which showcases Chef Eneko Atxa’s Basque dishes.  The food was incredible!!!!  We highly recommend that you enjoy an evening at Eneko the wine, food and service was all top notch.  The restaurant can be hired exclusively for a fabulous drinks reception with guaranteed delicious food,

Well done to everyone at One Aldwych, the refurb looks brilliant and provides us with everything we need for events!  We recommend that you arrange a site visit as soon as possible, Chiara Dall’Agnola at Pineapple Hotels will be able to arrange a site visit for you.
